{ Anna + Chuck Wedding by Amy! }

You may remember Anna and Chuck's fabulous engagement and family session a few weeks ago that Angela photographed. They hired me for their Alexandria, VA wedding. Anna and Chuck had their ceremony and reception at the Hilton Alexandria in Old Town. I have been to Washington, DC several times, but never across the river in Alexandria, VA. What an adorable city. Even though the weather was a bit wet outside, I know we had to go to Old Town for a few photos of the two of them after the ceremony. Old Town is several blocks of historic homes and cobblestone sidewalks lined with cute little local shops and restaurants.

Susan Solo, from the DC area was my second photographer for the day.
Ana Crane-Simpson traveled with me and did a wonderful job with hair and makeup.

{ Helen + Chris: Couple Portrait Session }

Helen and Chris opted to do a couples session -- which I think is an absolute FAB thing to do. They are already married but wanted to update and have some photos of them currently. I am planning a similar session with my husband in 2010, I know it is going to be so much fun!

I did two sessions with Helen and Chris, one couple portrait session and one *couples dreaming in the dark*. Now you will have to wait for Helen and Chris to give me permission to post the latter (fingers crossed!). But for now here is the is portrait session... ;)

{ Sarah & Phillip: Engagement! }

Sarah and Phillip are high-school sweethearts that will be getting married this May in Hopkinsville, KY. They traveled up to Louisville and had the unbelievably talented Ana Crane-Simpson do Sarah's hair and makeup. I had so much fun on this engagement shoot and I just can't wait to see how stunning Sarah will be on the wedding day! Here are some photos from their wonderful session:

Sarah and Phillip told me that they are both very avid readers and so what better place to take them to than a bookstore? The next several photos were taken at Carmichael's Bookstore on Bardstown Road in the Highlands.

The lady behind the counter was nice enough to let us take a book outside in front of the store to use for the photographs and so I started searching for the most romantic book I could find until Sarah exclaimed, "Oh, I know! Wait right here!" When she came back with the James Patterson thriller Double Cross needless to say I was slightly confused. Sarah then explained to me that she was in the middle of this particular book when Phillip proposed to her. I think she found just the perfect one to use!

I just love the elegance of this series of pictures taken at the swank L and N Wine Bar and Bistro.
