Alright, so, storytelling time. Jamie first contacted me at the beginning of 2008 to ask if I traveled for weddings (and I do! And so does Amy!) and if I was available for her destination wedding. She had been referred to me from my absolutely awesome past clients, Heather and Jeff! Jamie and Joe knew Heather from dental school. Joe is a dentist with a practice in Somerset, KY.
At our first meeting Jamie and Joe both stressed how important family and friends are to them. It was going to be a relatively intimate wedding at Lake Oconee, Georgia (outside of Atlanta) and that they wanted the best photographer who would capture the moments of the wonderful people they know and love that would delight them for the rest of their lives. I thought that was awesome. Like many of us our family and friends are at the center of our lives and certainly at the center of such an amazing occasion such as our wedding day!
So after the meeting I had communication here and there with both of them. Jamie emailed me one day to ask if I did boudoir sessions (I call them "Dreaming in the Dark" now) and when I said yes, we immediately made the plans for the session to take place. A bottle of champagne later she had such an incredibly personal, intimate and sensual gift to give her new husband (see below for pictures of Joe on the wedding day with his new favorite book!).
We planned to come down early to photograph some of the wedding weekend festivities. I love it when we spend more than just the wedding day with our clients! Any time we can spend with them just helps us get to know them better and know the people who are especially important to them even more as well. This is why we love capturing engagement session and photographing rehearsals or any of the wedding weekend events.
You can see the post below this one that covers the day before the wedding. But on to the wedding day itself...

Jamie and Joe personally made the wine they gave their guests. I thought it was a wonderful personal touch!

Jamie's beautiful gown. I should have some bridals up in a week or two. She will be in the studio on Monday to have her bridals taken!

The stunning bride.

Joe's niece comes in to greet Jamie. Jamie and Joe have been together for 10 years so you can tell how deep their bond is with each other's families. Plus Jamie has the softest, kindest heart. She had to try so hard not to cry nearly every time she saw someone. She was so overwhelmed with joy at being a part of a new family. The love was deep and amazing.

Jamie puts on the new, gorgeous necklace (also came with earrings!) that Joe gave her as a wedding gift (Go Joe!).

And the man himself!

And the awesome gift that Jamie gave Joe that morning!! ;)

I loved the suits the guys wore. Very Southern. And as a Southerner myself I just have to say holla! ;)

I love these kinds of portraits. It is the time when we are taking the more formals but those moments of pure emotion sneak in! I love her neice's cute scrunched up face. She is soooooo excited to have Jamie as an official aunt!

I love this photograph of Jamie's grandmother. The lighting is so beautiful and it was just a stolen moment, she had no idea we were photographing her. At the reception she came up to us and said she heard that we took a beautiful photograph of her and that she wanted it. I told Jamie that we would love to send her a 5x7 for her frame. It was so cute!!

And then the ceremony...

And so James Bond of him -- Joe and his groomsmen arrived by boat to the ceremony!

I have a lot of photos of Jamie's dad walking her to the altar but none of them moved me like this. See, at the rehearsal Jamie's dad was saying that he was going to do everything he could to keep from crying when he walked her down the aisle. He had a hard time at the rehearsal but was determined to make it through the ceremony. I love this moment because it is where Jamie's dad is taking a big breath to try and hold his composure. I truly loved this family!

The reception location. Beautiful and rustic.

Again, another wonderful moment. This was during the toasts. Jamie and Joe had this quick little moment that I doubt many people saw. It just shows how happy they truly are.

And the first dance.

Watch out! The reception party was off of the proverbial hook.

Ok, when dad has moves like that everyone needs to get off the dance floor because it is being
owned.
Jamie and Joe had to get in on the moves.

I don't remember what was happening at this point I just love how excited they are!

Jamie is well-loved by children! She is so sweet, it is easy to understand why!

Oh and I had to finish with another gorgeous baby photo. I mean look at these beautiful happy babies...makes me think Gary and I might need to hook something like that up. ;) I love this picture! He is adorable!!!
